Insurer QBE has forged a new partnership with fintech hub Stone & Chalk to take part in its inaugural Insurtech Program 2018, which engages tech start-ups to solve customer-specific business problems.
The program, part of QBE's strategic efforts toward innovation and to becoming a more customer-centric organisation, is focused on bringing innovation from the outside in and to provide solutions to pre-determined problem statements.
Start-ups are invited to respond to problem statements in an application, with those chosen getting the opportunity to attend a bootcamp and accelerator phase. The event will culminate in a final pitch day in May where they showcase their solutions and receive feedback from their matched corporate partner.
The insurer said the program will not only provide QBE and other corporates access to outside-in solutions to bespoke business problems, it will also benefit start-ups through technology support, introductions to key decision makers and to a broader global market, as well insights that will help them fast track project approval.
