QBE Insurance has taken the spotlight at the 2019 Australian LGBTI Awards, having been named winner of the LGBTI Employee Network Award.
The insurance giant nabbed the award in recognition of its LGBTIQ+ inclusive culture and innovative approach taken by its employee pride network, including its ‘bring your whole self to work’ initiative which showcases the power and importance of LGBTIQ+ visibility in inclusive workplace culture.
“Thank you to the QBE Pride Committee – your sustained commitment, courage, and passion has been instrumental in our mission to ensure QBE is an inclusive workplace for all of our people, and importantly our LGBTIQ+ community, family, and friends,” said Eleanor Debelle, QBE Australia Pacific chief HR officer. “For QBE, fostering an inclusive workplace is not only the right thing to do, it’s fundamental to delivering on our strategic plan and driving positive outcomes for our customers and partners.”
Debelle also congratulated all of this year’s nominees “for their outstanding contributions to the LGBTIQ+ community.”
Members of the QBE Pride Committee and its key partners attended the awards ceremony at The Star Sydney last week to accept the award on behalf of the organisation.
