Pacific Life Re has teamed up with health and wellness experts Thrive Re Consulting, to help develop its Claims Rules Engine, part of a suite of products within the reinsurer's underwriting digital platform, UnderwriteMe.
The Claims Rules Engine incorporates a database of more than 6,500 medical conditions, to provide comprehensive initial and ongoing assessment for claimants and their doctors, as well as ultimate claim decisions and recommendations in terms of rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
The deal will allow Thrive Re Consulting to undertake leading-edge research to identify the most specific factors and questions to be integrated into the Claims Rules Engine.

The Claims Rules Engine is set to be released to the general market early next year.
