Origin Insurance Brokers, Australia’s first majority indigenous-owned insurance broker, is set to become an authorised representative of
Marsh.
Under the agreement, the unique brokerage will collaborate with Marsh to offer Supply Nation-certified services and solutions to private and Government sector clients across the country.
Founded in 2015 by ex-rugby league star David Liddiard OAM, the brokerage promotes indigenous engagement with corporate Australia by helping businesses and Government meet indigenous procurement targets. The firm has deep roots in the creation of long-term sustainable employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Scott Leney, CEO of Marsh, said that the coming together of the two firms is an important part of the growth trajectory of each organisation.
“As an authorised representative of Marsh, Origin will tap into the full range of our offering for clients, further fulfilling Origin’s aim to deepen the links between corporate and indigenous Australia,” Leney said.
Liddiard said that authenticity is a key issue for indigenous businesses that partner with corporate firms in Australia and noted that Marsh is “genuinely committed to improving opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and offers Origin the values and leadership required to make a real difference.”
Managing director of Origin, Adam Rhodes, said that the deal brings Origin forward in its goal to help close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.
“It will allow us to provide best-in-class risk advisory and broking services to companies that are committed to supporting indigenous suppliers, and better enable us to attract the growing force of indigenous business,” Rhodes said.
