Restoration enthusiasts out there are in for a treat as specialist insurer NTI’s restored custom 1946 Ford Jail Bar will soon be up for grabs at an online auction.
The Australian Trucking Association’s ATA Live Industry Broadcasting Event is an annual event that is open to anyone over 18 years old in Australia. This year’s auction will take place online due to COVID-19 restrictions – on September 23 at 5:30pm AEST.
Tony Clark, the chief executive officer of NTI, said this is the best time to do something “a little different” to raise funds for motor neurone disease (MND).
“While 2020 has presented some challenges around fundraising, it hasn’t challenged our commitment to the cause. To date, we’ve raised over $330,000 for MND, and we’ll continue to seek answers for this aggressive and indiscriminate disease that impacts thousands of Australians and their families, every year,” Clark said.
NTI established an official MND research grant in 2019, in memory of the company’s previous CEO Wayne Paterson. All proceeds of the truck auction will be donated to MND Australia.
“Our restoration projects allow Wayne’s legacy to live on and for NTI to give back in so many ways – be it through raising money for research, engaging with a community or supporting local businesses,” Clark said.
“But the story is much bigger than NTI just building a truck. The truck is a culmination of dedication; a passion project with a greater purpose. And in the current climate – we can all do with a little more sense of purpose.”
