NRMA Insurance has joined forces with the One Stop One Story (OSOS) Hub in an industry-first partnership for the insurance sector.
The OSOS Hub connects customers experiencing vulnerability to multiple support services simultaneously by reducing barriers to its access.
Created by Thriving Communities Australia, the hub enables individuals facing domestic violence or financial hardship to share their story once and get needed support.
This platform allows frontline workers in corporate, community and government organizations to streamline customer referrals through a network system by eliminating the need to contact each organization individually.
"The One Stop One Story Hub is a long-term solution that reduces the barriers to accessing support. It would not be possible without cross-sector collaboration, and we welcome NRMA Insurance to our network of partners, who have united for a common cause," said Thriving Communities Australia CEO Ciara Sterling.
Sterling noted that many Australians aren't accessing available corporate hardship assistance due to lack of awareness and the emotional burden of repeatedly sharing traumatic experiences.
NRMA is The first insurer to have supported such a platform, the company said.
"We are focused on identifying and supporting customers impacted by domestic and family violence or financial hardship," said NRMA Insurance CEO Julie Batch.
NRMA Insurance has introduced specialty training modules to help customer support teams better recognize and assist those in need.
The partnership builds on parent company IAG's existing relationship with Thriving Communities Australia, which began in 2023.
Thriving Communities Australia operates as a charitable not-for-profit organization that facilitates cross-sector collaboration.
The collaboration aims to create more accessible and streamlined support systems for vulnerable Australians.
