Specialist insurer National Transport Insurance scored an impressive double win at ANZIIF’s Australian Insurance Industry Awards. The niche truck insurer was the unexpected star of the night, winning both Small/Medium General Insurance Company of the Year and Claims Service Provider of the Year.
Allianz was the best of the big beasts on the night, scooping Large General Insurance Company of the Year. The awards, hosted by ANZIIF on Wednesday and now in its tenth year, also saw IBL Limited walked away with Broker of the Year (Small), Roderick Insurance Brokers took home Broker of the Year (Medium), and Aon was victorious with Broker of the Year (Large).
Brooklyn Underwriting was crowned Underwriting Agency of the Year; Terry Towell was hailed Insurance Leader of the Year.
HWL Ebsworth Lawyers trumped other shortlisted competitors for the title of Law Firm/Practitioner of the Year; and Ian Brown, Jim Minto, John Richardson, Lach McKeough and Joan Fitzpatrick all received the ANZIIF Lifetime Achievement Award.
Service Provider to the Insurance Industry went to Recoveries Corporation Group Limited, and BT Financial Group won Innovation of the Year.
The awards were bittersweet for The Institute’s CEO Joan Fitzpatrick, who stood down from her role after 10 years. She congratulated the winners and the industry as a whole for the hard work and dedication.
“When I reflect on the experience of the past 10 years and everything that we have endured together as a nation, an industry and a profession, I feel privileged to be part of this industry, one that does so much good and always strives for better.”
