The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has revealed the winners of the 2024 NSW/ACT Young Broker of the Year and Broker of the Year awards.
Emily-Rose Srbinovska of Austbrokers Canberra was named the Vero-partnered 2024 NSW/ACT Young Broker of the Year.
The award, backed by Vero for over 30 years, recognises the achievements of brokers under 35.
Yusuf Alexander, state distribution manager for NSW/ACT at Vero, praised Srbinovska’s commitment and leadership.
“Emily-Rose’s passion for the industry and dedication to her clients were evident throughout the selection process. Her involvement in professional development and mentoring peers highlights her leadership qualities. We are proud to support brokers like Emily-Rose who represent the very best of the profession,” he said.
Matthew Bates from Bell Partners Insurance received the CGU-partnered 2024 NSW/ACT Broker of the Year award.
The accolade celebrates senior brokers who have notably advanced the profession’s standards.
“On behalf of CGU, Iʼd like to congratulate Matthew as this yearʼs NSW/ACT Broker of the Year state winner,” said Pegah Vaghaye, executive manager broker relationships at CGU. “His expertise and integrity as a standout senior broker are why CGU is proud to champion broker ambition.”
Srbinovska and Bates will compete at the national level, with winners to be announced at the 2024 NIBA Convention in Adelaide this October.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin extended his congratulations to all participants.
“NIBA would like to congratulate all the NSW/ACT state finalists and wish Emily-Rose and Matthew the best of luck for the national awards,” he said.
The national Broker of the Year will receive a chance to attend a short executive course at NYU Stern Business School in autumn 2025, including travel and accommodation.
