The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has announced the winners of this year’s regional Young Professional Broker of the Year Awards.
The Young Professional Broker of the Year Award, which is sponsored by Vero, celebrates the industry’s rising stars under the age of 35. The winners compete for the Warren Tickle Memorial Award for Young Professional Broker of the Year, which will be awarded during the 2020 NIBA Virtual Convention.
This year’s winner for the New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory is David Harry of Aon, followed by finalists Emily-Rose Srbinovska of Austbrokers Canberra and Sam Hunter of Ausure Insurance Broking Services.
Kate Martin of Marsh emerged as the winner for Queensland, with Gerald Lodewick of Tony Bemrose Insurance Brokers (TBIB) and Melita How of BMS Group as finalists. For South Australia and the Northern Territory, the winner is Kelly Qualmann of Gallagher, with Adrian Vizzari of Dynamic Insurance Brokers and Luke Ferguson of Austbrokers Terrace Insurance Brokers as finalists.
Finally, the winner for Western Australia is Tryan Christos of Interlink Insurance Brokers, with Kristy Teh of Unicorn Risk Solutions and Nathan Miller of Assent Financial Services as finalists.
Commenting on the winners, NIBA chief executive officer Dallas Booth said: “David, Kate, Kelly, Patrick, and Tryan are exceptional brokers – they set a benchmark for the rest of the profession. This award recognises and celebrates their hard work.”
