Industry newcomer iExtend has announced the appointment of Mark Stubbings as head of alliances, a newly created role meant to facilitate industry and association collaboration.
Stubbings (pictured above) was previously iExtend’s Queensland distribution manager, promoting the company across licensees and advice partners. His appointment as head of alliances expands this role beyond state borders, allowing him to continue building momentum for the company.
An accountant by profession, Stubbings specialises in financial services across Australia and New Zealand, and has worked in different licensee, financial advice, and product provider roles. Prior to joining iExtend, he spent five years at Sunsuper and 12 months at Aware Super. He holds an MBA and financial planning qualifications. He is also state secretary for the AFA in Queensland.
With iExtend, Stubbings has recently collaborated with several organisations to run the inaugural joint FPA, AFA, SMSFA, MDRT and XY Adviser Roadshow in Northern Queensland. The success of this roadshow, along with earlier events, has led to the planning of a similar roadshow for Tasmania.
“Mark is an insurance professional and his capacity to engage and bring the industry together on key issues has no boundaries,” said iExtend CEO David Sarkis. “We look forward to expanding on these strengths in his new role and building on the collaborative nature of our offering.”
iExtend launched in 2021. It allows policyholders to co-own a life policy, enabling them to retain partial interest in the original policy and eliminate future premium payments on the co-owned policy that was to be cancelled.
“We take a collaborative approach with our offer and work with all the stakeholders in a life insurance policy, including the policyholder, the adviser and the insurer,” added Sarkis. “We believe our service and attention to detail create a winning experience for all three and one which extends the life of life insurance which otherwise would have been cancelled.”
To date, iExtend has been at the AIOFP, Synchron, NextGen and Futuro conferences. The company will also attend the AFA National Conference in Queensland and the FPA Congress in Sydney this November.
