The Suncorp Apprentice Scholarship Programme has welcomed 55 new recruits, who have commenced training within the company’s various network panel repairers across Australia.

Brett Wallace, executive manager for assessing and repair performance, noted: “The Suncorp Group needs quality repairers to ensure we are providing the best service to our customers. Our apprenticeship programme is one way we ensure quality repairers are coming up through the ranks and contributing to the future of the motor repair industry.”

Describing the programme as something to be immensely proud of, Wallace said its success is a true reflection of repairers’ commitment to supporting a sustainable industry. The initiative has been running for more than a decade now.

The scholarship features subsidies to repairers worth $12,000 for a four-year apprenticeship, plus $1,000 for every year of successfully completed studies to assist with tools, equipment, and study-related purchases.

Graduating with either a Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or a Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology, apprentices will be eligible to work as fully qualified panel repairers or spray painters.
