Law firm Moray & Agnew has expanded its Victorian property practice with the appointment of Thomas Zilm as a new partner.
Zilm (pictured) joins the team alongside existing partners David Gandolfo and Briony Kerr.
Zilm brings extensive experience in property law, having represented both domestic and international clients across multiple jurisdictions.
His areas of expertise include large-scale land acquisitions and disposals, petroleum franchising, major leasing agreements, shopping centre and hotel transactions, off-the-plan sales, strata management, and greenfield development projects.
Commenting on the appointment, Melbourne managing partner Bill Papastergiadis OAM said that Zilm’s arrival reinforces the firm’s property practice.
“Thomas is a bright lawyer who will bring significant drive, energy, and enthusiasm to our firm. [He] is keen to help us expand Moray & Agnew’s property practice, which already is recognised by leading publications as one of Australia’s leading property teams,” he said.

Zilm expressed enthusiasm about joining Moray & Agnew, noting his intention to contribute to the firm’s growth by managing significant property transactions across Australia from the Melbourne office while working with clients in Sydney, Brisbane, and Canberra.

Additionally, Moray & Agnew has welcomed senior associate Siobhan O’Driscoll to its Brisbane insurance team.
O’Driscoll – who has significant experience in public liability, motor vehicle (CTP), workers’ compensation, and historical abuse claims – has previously served in both the public and private sectors. Her prior roles include complex claims advisor and manager within the Queensland State Government and a partner at a boutique plaintiff law firm.

In a broader development, Moray & Agnew recently announced a series of promotions effective from July 1. The promotions include the elevation of 26 lawyers to new roles across the firm.
Five lawyers have been named partners:
Forsyth’s experience lies in government administration and dispute resolution, while Landwehr specialises in employment and workplace relations.
Munro’s focus is on insurance law, particularly workers’ compensation disputes, and Smith and Thomson bring expertise in litigation and advisory services, particularly in the government sector.
The firm also promoted 12 lawyers to special counsel, eight to senior associate, and one to associate across its various offices and practice areas.
