Moray & Agnew, a legal firm specialising in the insurance sector, has announced significant advancements within its team, effective Jan. 1.
Two team members will ascend to partner roles, while two others will assume the responsibilities of senior associates.
Moray & Agnew welcomed Danielle Sweeney (based in the Newcastle office) and George Chadwick (based in the Melbourne branch) into the partnership.
Sweeney brings to the partnership over a decade of legal expertise in the insurance industry. Her experience encompasses the proficient handling of compulsory third-party claims, workers' compensation claims, and regular representation of clients across various jurisdictions. Notably, her appearances include proceedings in the Claims Assessment Resolution Service, Workers Compensation Commission, Personal Injury Commission, District and Supreme Courts of NSW, NSW Court of Appeal, and the High Court of Australia.
Chadwick's key proficiency lies in the defence of professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurer clients. His scope of practice extends to providing valuable insurance coverage advice. Chadwick actively represents a diverse clientele involved in professional indemnity disputes, covering professions such as accountants, pharmacists, solicitors, real estate agents, engineers, architects, valuers, councillors, and land and building surveyors.
Yianni Koulouris (from the Melbourne construction team) and Tayla Maclachlan (from the Brisbane liability team) will step into new roles as senior associates.
Moray & Agnew national managing partner Geoff Connellan congratulated the four lawyers on their promotions.
“I am pleased we are able to promote some of the great talent we have and recognise them for looking after our clients so well,” he said.
The promotion spree follows the appointment of a new managing partner for Moray & Agnew's Canberra office.
