Superannuation fund Vision Super will launch MLC Life Insurance's group insurance digital portal LifeView, providing its 100,000 strong member base with online access to manage every aspect of their life insurance needs.
Suzanne Smith, chief customer officer for group insurance at MLC Life Insurance, appointed as Vision Super's new group insurer in January, said the portal will enable fund members “to have an easy interaction with their life insurance.”
“At a time of unprecedented change in the Australian group insurance market, our priority is to ensure members understand their life insurance and can set the level of cover that’s right for them – to protect what’s most important in their lives, their families. LifeView makes this possible,” Smith said. “The portal also provides an integrated experience for trustees and administrators, providing superannuation funds with transparent view of the claims process.”
LifeView, part of MLC Life Insurance’s multi-million dollar transformation program, can be accessed by Vision Super members whenever, wherever, and howsoever, to modify their life insurance or make a claim.
It has tools to help members better understand their cover, including a needs analysis tool to check the level of their cover and a premium calculator to check the cost of their cover. The digital portal also enables members to upload documents to support their claims application, and manage their superannuation and life insurance with one username and password, as well as view and track the status of their application in real time.
LifeView has fast processing and decision times on claims and underwriting, and is integrated with MLC Life Insurance's new digital underwriting platform, for a simplified and faster claims experience, life insurer said in a statement.
Vision Super is the second superannuation fund to roll out LifeView, following Energy Super in Nov. 2017.
