There will soon be a new man at the helm of MLC Life Insurance.
The company has just announced that Rodney Cook (pictured) will move into the role of CEO and managing director, effective from Monday, June 15.
Cook has an extensive background in the industry and is well known across Australia and New Zealand, particularly for his role as managing director of AMP New Zealand, a position he took in 1996. This was followed by moves to Pearl Assurance and then becoming CEO of London Life. He has held further senior roles at the likes of Zurich, Prudential UK and LV=. In 2010, he became CEO of Just Group plc in the UK.
“We are delighted that a person of the calibre and experience of Rodney Cook will lead MLC Life Insurance,” said MLC Limited chairman Peter Grey.
Cook himself noted he was “thrilled with the opportunity to lead an iconic company.”
“These are challenging times for all Australians and their life insurers,” he said. “With the continued support of Nippon Life and NAB, and significant ongoing investment in our technology and processes, I aim to deliver outstanding service to our 1.3 million customers through our business partners and people.”
The board also thanked Sean McCormack for his role as acting CEO and MD over the previous five months.
