Insurance broker MGA Insurance Group (MGA) has appointed Micheal Rapisarda as an authorised representative.
An experienced portfolio manager, Micheal joins his wife Paula Rapisarda, currently a portfolio manager in the company. The couple has a wealth of experience in commercial insurance broking in the South Australian market, particularly in contract works. In his new role, Micheal will work closely with Paula to take over the commercial SME customers and the schemes component.
Additionally, MGA has promoted account broker Morgan Stuckey to portfolio manager. She has worked with authorised representative Ken Barker for several years as a highly experienced account broker. In her new role, she will be responsible for a major part of MGA's commercial portfolio.
MGA has also announced that Barker will retire after nearly 10 years with the group, where he finalised succession discussions for his portfolio.
“Ken has been a terrific contributor and will be around for a while yet to ensure a smooth transition,” said MGA managing director Paul George.
The appointments follow the launch of MGA's new office in Sydney, bringing together its Sydney, Manly, and Artarmon offices under one roof. As of writing, it has 15 personnel, four portfolio managers, and nearly $58 million in premiums and writes 17% of the group's national placements.
