National law firm Meridian Lawyers announces addition of Principal Stephanie Weeks to its team. According to a news release, Weeks brings a wealth of expertise in professional indemnity and directors’ and officers’ (D&O) liability to the firm, serving as both defence and coverage counsel for Australian and London insurers, reinsurers, ASX-listed entities, insurance brokers, and SMEs. She will be joining the team on Jan. 29 and will be based in Sydney.
Weeks has represented clients in a diverse array of disputes, including actions on allegations of professional negligence, breach of contract, misleading or deceptive conduct, insolvent trading, oppression, wrongful dismissal, and breach of directors’ duties, the news release said. She has defended professionals across various sectors, including insurance brokers, accountants, and solicitors.
“Stephanie’s skills and knowledge complement and strengthen our PI and D&O offer to clients,” said Paul Baker, managing director at Meridian. “There are many synergies between Stephanie’s client base and Meridian’s, including the strong relationships she has forged with a number of Meridian’s key clients. Her approach and shared values align perfectly with our goals to strengthen our brand and broaden our insurance offer.”
“I am delighted to be a part of the firm’s growth plans,” Weeks said. “It’s an exciting time to be joining the business. I look forward to working with my colleagues at Meridian to continue to deliver quality advice and dispute resolution services to our clients.”
This announcement follows Meridian’s recent appointments of Matthew Pokarier, Jacinta Long, Angel Li, and Marcus O’Brien, all of whom have joined the principal group and the national insurance team.
