Merged managing general agents SRS Underwriting Agency and Australis Group Underwriting will be examining their existing offering and the opportunities for electronic distribution, CEO Paul Lynam has said.

The two Arthur J. Gallagher operations are set to be rebranded as Pen Underwriting from 1st November.

Although, Lynam said, the rebrand will have no impact on the staff or brokers, one of the company’s key focuses going forward will be the electronic distribution of its existing products including management liability and professional indemnity. It is in the process of hiring a UK product development expert who will look at opportunities.

Arthur J. Gallagher acquired SRS 18 months ago and Australis eight years ago. Lynam said it was always the aim to merge the two businesses.

“Arthur J.Gallagher did not want to run two. It was always the intention to have one. The integration has been going on for 18 months.

“Brokers won’t see any change other than the rebrand. It is just another step in the full integration of the two businesses.”

Looking to the future, he said: “We will be a very large MGA which will have unparalleled products in the market.”
