It’s not that there is a lack of women in the insurance industry. It’s that there is just not that many in senior positions.
Enya He, regional director for south central US region at Lloyd’s, told Insurance Business recently: “Overall we are in the minority. We’re still a white, male-dominated environment. That’s just a fact.”
But change is on the way. In Australia at least, there are a few women who have already made it to the top and some well on their way. And they will be at the Insurance Business Women in Insurance Summit this August.
Carlie Griggs, divisional manager – specialty, JLT Australia will discuss breaking that old boys’ club mentality and understanding unconscious bias.
Other hot topics include gender pay equity, flexible work practices and resilient leadership.
Super Saver registrations end this Friday, April 27. For more information and to book online click here.
The Women in Insurance Summit will be held at the InterContinental on Tuesday, August 07. The event is accredited for 5.5 NIBA CPD points.
