McLardy McShane Group (McLardy McShane) has appointed Brendan Wright as its new Melbourne broking manager, starting in his role this week.
Wright (pictured) transitions from Aon Risk Solutions, where he served as sales director for Victoria. In this capacity, he led the Victorian sales team and managed services for clients with revenues over $200 million.
In his new role at McLardy McShane, Wright will oversee a portfolio that includes the Melbourne branch’s largest accounts and collaborate with the team on business development and growth strategies.
Meg Long, chief operating officer of McLardy McShane Group, noted Wright’s relevant experience and fit with the company’s strategic goals.
“We are thrilled to have Brendan join as our newly appointed Melbourne broking manager,” she said. “Brendan brings a wealth of expertise in several sectors that align with our business, having most recently come from an international broking company.”
She emphasised that Wright’s compatibility with the company’s culture and values was a crucial factor in his hiring.
“He is an impressive young man who aligns with our company culture and values which is very important to us,” she said. “We have no doubt that Brendan will have a significant impact in steering and further building our Melbourne branch.”
The appointment comes after McLardy McShane received recognition from Insurance Business, being named Australian Brokerage of the Year and Large Brokerage of the Year at the Insurance Business Australia Awards 2024.
The awards recognised and celebrated the insurance industry’s trailblazers across 21 categories.
Aside from earning recognition from Insurance Business, McLardy McShane saw its CEO, Don McLardy, receive the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
The award celebrates the insurance veteran for his significant contributions to charities and Australian rules football.
