McLardy McShane Group has named Shaneika Sutherland (pictured above) as its national development manager.
Sutherland’s responsibilities will include expanding the group’s relationships throughout Australia and managing its growing network. She began her role this week.
Sutherland joined McLardy McShane from Bizcover, where she held the position of broker operations and distribution manager for seven years.
In 2023, she was recognised as one of Insurance Business Australia’s Rising Stars, underscoring her professional development and the value she provided to her clients.
Commenting on the appointment, McLardy McShane Group chief operating officer Meg Long highlighted Sutherland’s extensive experience in business model development and relationship-building.
“We are thrilled Shaneika has agreed to join the team,” she said. “She comes to us with many years’ experience building out business models and fostering relationships, plus she is the perfect culture fit.”

Sutherland, who is based in Sydney, expressed her excitement about her new role.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to leverage my experience in building business relationships and contributing to strategic growth initiatives,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with the team and further expanding the group’s presence across Australia.
“McLardy McShane Group’s commitment to innovation and client centric solutions aligns perfectly with my own values, and I am eager to make a meaningful impact in this dynamic role.”
Last month, McLardy McShane appointed Brendan Wright as its new Melbourne broking manager.
Wright transitions from Aon Risk Solutions, where he served as sales director for Victoria, overseeing services for clients with revenues above $200 million.
In his new role, he manages a portfolio that includes the largest accounts of the Melbourne branch and works on business development and growth strategies.
“We are thrilled to have Brendan join as our newly appointed Melbourne broking manager,” Long said. “Brendan brings a wealth of expertise in several sectors that align with our business, having most recently come from an international broking company.”
She also noted Wright’s fit with the company’s values and culture.
“He is an impressive young man who aligns with our company culture and values which is very important to us,” she said. “We have no doubt that Brendan will have a significant impact in steering and further building our Melbourne branch.”
