Global insurance broker Marsh has finalised its acquisition of specialist insurance broker Honan Insurance Group.
Founded in 1964, Honan offers corporate risk advisory and employee benefits specialising in strata and real estate insurance services. It provides residential, commercial, industrial, and build-to-rent advice to large residential buildings (strata committees), agents, and landlords across Australia and New Zealand.
Marsh first announced its acquisition of Honan in August, revealing that the deal will see Honan chief executive Andrew Fluitsma (above right) report to Marsh Pacific CEO Nick Harris.
In its latest statement, Marsh confirmed that Fluitsma took on the role of head of corporate and commercial at Marsh Pacific. The deal will also see Marsh and Honan bring colleagues together in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia and complete a co-location within the first quarter of 2024.
“I’m incredibly pleased about our two organisations joining together – aligned around our shared values and ambitions – and enhancing the expertise and innovations we offer to the business community,” Fluitsma said.
Josh Roach (above left), who will become the president of Marsh Pacific on Jan. 1, said: “This is an exciting new chapter; it’s about bringing two great businesses together, harnessing their respective strengths, and maximising the possibilities we will be able to achieve together for our clients, colleagues, and communities.”
