Maple Insurance and the Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) have introduced an industry-specific group insurance program for the influencer marketing sector, marking the first tailored insurance solution available to AiMCO members.
This new arrangement provides influencers and content creators with access to specialised insurance and risk management services, designed to address the specific challenges of the influencer industry.
The group offering gives AiMCO members a suite of coverage options, including professional indemnity, public and product liability, cyber risk, directors and officers liability, and corporate travel insurance.
Members also gain access to Maple’s risk consulting services, which include assessments in cyber security, legal and commercial risk, workers’ compensation, and workplace health and safety standards.
Additionally, the program offers custom risk assessments to help members better identify and manage their exposures, providing guidance on potential vulnerabilities and strategies for loss prevention.
Adam Sulway, managing director at Maple Insurance, said Maple’s partnership with AiMCO aims to set high standards in the influencer marketing space.
“The team at Maple is equally as dedicated to helping create a competitive playing field for influencers and content marketers by improving their risk awareness, reducing insurance costs, and providing ‘big insurance house’ scale of advice and solutions but with the care factor and approachability of a small, local adviser,” he said.
AiMCO managing director Patrick Whitnall described the partnership as a significant milestone for AiMCO and its members.
“Our new group offering with Maple is a major milestone for AiMCO, representing our ongoing commitment to enhancing and growing the Australian influencer industry,” he said.
He reiterated AiMCO’s goal to support best practices in influencer marketing, and risk management is a key part of this commitment.
“Our focus has, and continues to be, on promoting best practice influencer marketing and governance, and risk management is a critical part of that. This offering will allow our members to protect their businesses today, while safeguarding them for the future,” Whitnall said.
Jason Tonelli, AiMCO board chair, added that this offering supports AiMCO’s mission by enhancing member access to affordable, industry-specific risk advice.
“This offering will offer premium savings to members, along with industry expertise. There is strong synergy between AiMCO and Maple – we are both independent, agile, and focused on awareness and education. I’m certain this partnership will bring significant benefits to our member organisations,” he said.
Since its founding in 2019, AiMCO has grown to over 100 members, establishing itself as a leading industry body for influencer marketing in Australia.
