Suncorp- owned GIO has further bolstered the management of its workers compensation portfolio with the appointment of Tim Allen as underwriting manager ACT/national accounts.

Allen replaces Guy Stewart, who will work as GIO workers compensation’s national portfolio Underwriting Specialist.

This new position is part of GIO’s ongoing strategy to build a consistent, national approach across the workers compensation portfolio and flexibility towards emerging market demands.

Allen has considerable experience in workers compensation insurance in a number of different fields, including broking, risk management, injury management and claims management. He was the OH&S manager for the Salvation Army during the past two years.

Allen is based in Canberra and will report to Alan Whitehead, eastern region underwriting manager.

“Tim has a very strong background in workers compensation insurance across several different disciplines,” Jason Allison, GIO’s chief of workers compensation portfolio & underwriting, said.

“His wide-ranging expertise will complement our ACT team and therefore further strengthen our national approach to the management the portfolio.”
