Lockton has relocated its Australian headquarters to Level 18, 45 Clarence Street in Sydney.

The move to a larger space reflects the firm’s expansion, driven by annual staff increases exceeding 30%.

Lockton Australia’s new office

The new office, spanning two floors, was designed in collaboration with workspace consultancy Spaceful, following a strategic review aimed at preparing for future growth.

Paul Marsden, Lockton’s CEO for Australia and the Pacific Region, highlighted the value of an environment that supports in-person collaboration.

“We’re a people business that values face-to-face time and interactions with our clients and people. Our new space has been purposely designed to accommodate future growth and stay true to Lockton’s values,” he said.

The office design prioritises connectivity, incorporating various collaborative spaces and open areas. These spaces include a dedicated collaboration booth and light-filled meeting areas, intended to support team engagement and innovation.

Advanced audiovisual technology also enables both in-person and remote communications, enhancing Lockton’s operational flexibility.

The space includes private wellness rooms that allow for quiet work, meditation, and religious activities, aligning with Lockton’s emphasis on employee well-being.

Sustainable office

As part of its relocation project, Lockton integrated sustainable practices, with Spaceful recycling over 92% of the materials used during the construction process.

This initiative aligns with Lockton’s environmental goals, reflecting a broader industry trend toward sustainable business practices.

Lockton’s offshore projects practice

In addition to its Sydney office move, Lockton has announced the launch of an Offshore Projects Practice, offering risk solutions tailored to offshore operations.

Offshore energy projects, which often face challenges related to capital access and high-risk environments, are a focal area for the practice.

Led by specialists Jack Swift, David Vajnai, and Alex Morgan, the Offshore Projects Practice brings expertise in energy, marine, and power insurance. They collaborate with Lockton’s sector leads in upstream energy, construction, and renewable energy, including Matthew Preston, Robert Wilson, and Michael Bogdan.

The practice aims to support clients with complex risk needs that overlap multiple sectors, providing customised solutions that do not fit traditional insurance classifications.

Swift noted that the new practice integrates several insurance domains to meet clients’ unique challenges.

“I’m excited to lead Lockton’s team of highly experienced offshore risk experts who tackle the most challenging and unconventional offshore risks with confidence and precision,” he said.
