Global brokerage Lockton has announced a partnership with international PR firm FleishmanHillard to help steer clients through a cyberattack.
The partnership will see the two firms come together to help clients with preparedness planning, crisis management and crisis communications in the event of a data breach or cyber incident.
While cyberattacks and data breaches can cause many issues for a firm, the public relations element of a breach can be just as damaging as the leak itself.

Michael Born, a cyber team leader at Lockton, said that while every cyberattack is different, a well-prepared response is essential to managing the fall-out.
“Many of our clients are just as concerned about the impact to their brand as they are about the more direct financial costs of a data breach,” Born said.
The agreement between the firms will see clients given access to a global team of specialists who will work with the client to prepare for attacks, educate employees, and handle regulatory and legislative bodies alongside other services.
FleishmanHillard will also help clients following a breach in the best ways to respond to an attack.
