Lockton Companies Australia has announced the opening of an office in Tasmania in a plan to expand its national operations.

Tim Johns will lead the newly opened office as Lockton’s state director in Tasmania. Johns has over 40 years’ experience in broking solutions after working for several companies in the state.

Johns said he is looking forward to spearheading Lockton’s business and that he is “excited at the opportunity to lead Lockton’s unique client value proposition and establish Lockton as an industry leading risk and insurance advisor in the state.”

Lockton has hinted at further expansion, with its new office in Hobart only the beginning.

Paul Marsden, Lockton Australia’s CEO, underlined the importance of expanding into Tasmania to widen its customer reach.

Marsden said: “Tasmania represents further expansion of our Australian footprint and we look forward to providing the full strength of Lockton’s risk solutions capabilities to our customers.”

Marsden also mentioned that the broker’s expansion is significant in its support for the national energy transition.

“Tasmania boasts a number of important growth initiatives such as Battery of the Nation (delivering renewable energy to the mainland through Project Marinus), for which Lockton looks forward to supporting,” he said.
