The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and Lloyd’s Australia have announced Angela Mosedale of Agile Underwriting Services as the first recipient of the inaugural Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship. This scholarship, according to a news release, aims to support and develop future leaders and innovators within the insurance industry.
The Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship provides a unique educational opportunity, advancing the recipient’s career through enhanced qualifications and industry exposure. Mosedale will progress from Tier 1 qualification to a Diploma and will participate in the ANZIIF course, Lloyd’s Demystified, valued at up to $5,000. Additionally, Mosedale will gain firsthand experience with a “day in the life” at Lloyd’s Australia’s Sydney office.
“Lloyd’s is committed to fostering talent within the insurance industry and the Innovators Scholarship is an initiative that demonstrates this,” said Peter Plustwik, general manager of Lloyd’s Australia. “The scholarship speaks to the innovative values of the Lloyd’s market, and it is great to see talented people like Angela continuing to drive forward this tradition.”
“Angela has demonstrated outstanding commitment to her career in insurance,” said ANZIIF CEO Katrina Shanks.” The knowledge she will gain from this opportunity is something that will carry her forward and help her uplift fellow insurance professionals.”
“I was so thrilled to learn that I was the inaugural winner of the Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship,” Mosedale said. “I can’t wait to begin training with ANZIIF towards my Diploma and further developing my skills and knowledge in the insurance industry. I encourage my fellow peers to put yourself out there, apply next year, and see where the journey takes you.”
Applications for the 2025 Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship will open in January next year.
