Law firm Barry.Nilsson has announced that it will open an office in Melbourne as it continues its expansion along the east coast.
The Melbourne office will open on July 1 and will help the law firm develop its expanding client base.
A specialist firm for insurance and health, family law and property and commercial, the Brisbane-based firm opened a Sydney office in 2014 and plans on staffing its Melbourne office with a nine person team to meet the needs of Victorian clients.
Don Leembruggen, managing partner of Barry.Nilsson, said that the new office represents a significant milestone for the firm.
“Opening an office in Melbourne is a milestone in the growth of our firm, which has successfully operated for more than 50 years with a clear focus on delivering client excellence,” Leembruggen said.
“With an increasing client base on the east coast, it was an integral part of our client service strategy to have a physical presence in the major cities of Sydney and Melbourne.”
With an office in Melbourne’s CBD, three insurance experts will form a core of the new team with Nieva Connell, Hubert Wajszel and Peter Ewin, adding to the firms growing insurance practice.
“Hubert, Peter and Nieva are excellent additions to our insurance team, bringing with them over 55 years of experience in insurance law, and the opportunity to expand on the legal expertise and training we can offer our combined client base,” Leembruggen continued.
