With an increase in Queensland domiciled claims, particularly in the wake of recent weather-related catastrophes, coupled with the growth of the state’s energy sector, law firm Wotton + Kearney is to establish a presence in Brisbane.
The firm already has offices in Sydney and Melbourne and from 1 July 2013, in Brisbane.
The Brisbane office of Wotton + Kearney will be led by partner Paul Spezza. He has specialised in insurance litigation since 1998 and joined Wotton + Kearney in 2003.
Over that period Spezza has developed a diverse practice specialising in public and products liability, professional indemnity and contract works/construction. He has acted for a variety of insurers and their insureds, including a number of government agencies across these insurance classes.
Chief executive partner David Kearney said the decision to open the Brisbane office was due to “discrete requirements” from insurer clients.
