Wotton + Kearney and the Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG) have announced the launch of a new, annual scholarship aimed at boosting career development.
The
W+K APIG Scholarship will offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to young professionals in the insurance industry with a bumper package laid out for the inaugural winner.
The scholarship will recognise the contribution to the industry of one young professional as entrants will produce a brief submission outlining their contribution to the financial lines sector and their views on the present or future of the industry from a position that affects them.
The winner will be whisked off to the United Kingdom for a visit to the Lloyd’s of London insurance market, alongside attendance at the Professional Indemnity Forum (PIF) Conference, held in Oxford with $4,000 towards return airfares and $3,500 for accommodation and spending money.
Wotton + Kearney chief executive partner,
David Kearney, is proud to sponsor the scholarship and hopes it helps push the best young talent in the industry.
"Wotton + Kearney is delighted to partner with APIG in promoting such a positive initiative to help attract and retain the best talent to this important part of the insurance market."
APIG national president, Jeremy Scott-Mackenzie, said that the group became involved with the scholarship as it backs their educational beliefs.
"The benefits offered by the scholarship are aligned with APIG’s commitment to providing educational opportunities for our members. We encourage all eligible members to apply for this invaluable career experience."
Applicants must be a current APIG member and be under 36-years-old. Submissions close on 13 November with a winner to be announced on 11 December.
