Global law firm Kennedys has expanded its Australian insurance practice by appointing leading insurance specialist Lucinda Lyons as a new partner, effective Dec. 18.
Lyons has more than 20 years of industry experience. She has worked closely with major Australian and UK insurers and reinsurers, brokers, insureds, and companies.
Lyons is an accredited specialist in personal injury. She mainly focuses on personal injury, third-party property, and product liability work. She also advises on historical abuse matters on behalf of insurance companies and other organisations.
Lyons, who will be based in Sydney, will join Kennedys from Clyde & Co, where she was managing partner for Australia and head of Australian insurance practice. She was also a partner at Connery & Partners and the owner and founder of Lee & Lyons before the firm joined Clyde & Co.
“Kennedys is a leading, global insurance firm, and I receive regular feedback from clients about its market-leading reputation,” Lyons said. “I am looking forward to working closely with my colleagues at Kennedys to continue to leverage the firm's network and expertise to bring quality solutions and services to our clients.”
Kennedys' APAC leadership team welcomed Lyons to the Australian insurance practice.
“I am delighted to welcome Lucinda to Kennedys. Lucinda's appointment will enable us to continue to build on the work we are already doing with local and international clients,” said Jonathan Wyatt, managing partner of Kennedys in Australia.
“Lucinda is an experienced and highly regarded insurance specialist in the market,” said Matt Andrews, regional managing partner at Kennedys APAC. “I am delighted that she has joined the firm as we continue our regional expansion in APAC.”
Lyons will join Kennedys following the expansion of the firm's corporate and commercial practice group.
