JLT alumni join Lockton Re's global healthcare unit

The sale of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) to Marsh & McLennan Companies has seen what is coined as the JLT exodus, and now we bring you the latest in the series of switcheroos.

Lockton Re, broking behemoth Lockton’s reinsurance arm which came to life earlier this year, announced its foray into global healthcare with the arrival of JLT alumni Simon Mills and Fraser Howard. The two are based in London.

Aside from their recent JLT stint, Mills and Howard also bring experience from Denis M. Clayton Group and Benfield, respectively.

“We are delighted to have Simon and Fraser join us as we look to build London’s largest treaty book of US healthcare and healthcare business,” commented Lockton Re Global chief executive Tim Gardner.

“They come at a time of rapid expansion for Lockton Re, both in the US and in London. We are attracting world-class talent as an independent company with substantial growth aspirations and investment appetite.”

The group said the healthcare proposition is part of Lockton’s ambitious global expansion strategy for reinsurance.
