Insurance builder Johns Lyng Group (JLG) has established a new designated strata services building division to focus on building and restoration repairs for strata insurers.
The new division was initially made available throughout New South Wales ahead of a nationwide rollout.
Appointed as JLG’s general manager of strata services for NSW is Robert Noyes, who has more than 15 years of experience in the strata sector, including as Allen & Newton strata division chief.
JLG CEO Scott Didier said a dedicated strata division presented a “compelling new opportunity” for JLG, given that Australia has an estimated 2.5 million strata lots nationwide, at an insured value of around $995 billion.
“With the ongoing residential apartment construction boom along the east coast, continued population growth in major cities, and more people choosing strata apartment living, this is a real opportunity to introduce JLG’s expertise into this sector,” Didier said. “JLG’s hard earned reputation for quality customer service will also be important in the strata sector. We’ve set out to become the only truly national insurance building restoration provider, tailoring solutions to meet market demands. Establishing this division is another strong reflection of that.”
The company said the new division will explore opportunities in the strata direct and remedial building sectors, following expansion beyond NSW.
