HDI-Gerling has announced the appointment of a new market manager for its Northern region.

Georgia Vavasour has been appointed to the role and will be based in Sydney, it has been announced.

Vavasour has over a decade of experience within the insurance industry with a background in business development following varied roles in underwriting, portfolio and schemes and facilities management in financial lines in both Australia and London.

“Georgia is a great addition to HDI-Gerling in Australasia," said Stefan Feldmann, Managing Director of HDI-Gerling in Australasia, of the appointment.

“With her strong market facing experience Georgia will drive HDI-Gerling’s mid-market expansion to reach out to a larger audience of corporate insurance brokers.”

Vavasour spent the last seven years working in the mid-market and SME segment, most recently as national management liability practice leader with AIG.

The news of the appointment follows the announcement that HDI-Gerling, Germany’s leading industrial insurer, has opened a new office in Melbourne with several new hires staffing the office.
