QBE has extended its partnership with Australian netball team, the NSW Swifts, for another four years.
The insurer has been the principal partner of the NSW Swifts since December 2007, and this new agreement will see QBE’s support of the NSW Swifts reach the 10-year milestone.
Over this period, the NSW Swifts have grown into a revered sporting brand, this season breaking both membership and home crowd attendance records. It has accrued five premiership wins – four Commonwealth Bank Trophy titles, and an ANZ Championship win.
On announcing this partnership extension, QBE Australia and New Zealand CEO, Colin Fagen said: “It is with great pleasure that we announce the continuation of this fantastic relationship with the Swifts and the renewal of our sponsorship contract for the next four years.
“QBE is proud to be the principal name behind the NSW Swifts and to remain associated with such a committed and highly regarded team, in one of the most popular sports in Australia and New Zealand.
“We look forward to another great season with the Swifts in 2014 and many more years ahead.”
Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell said the partnership extension reflects the special relationship the two organisations share.
“QBE have been loyal supporters of the NSW Swifts since the formation of our franchise,” Campbell said. “This partnership extension reinforces the value our partners see in their association with the NSW Swifts and being part of a dynamic sport.”
“We want to sincerely thank QBE for their continued support, which will now extend to a 10-year partnership,” he added.
QBE remains the only principal partner still associated with an ANZ Championship franchise since the competition’s inaugural season.
