Ansvar Insurance has made two new hires to its senior management team, boosting its actuarial and underwriting capabilities.
Former
Allianz man Kerry Thom has been appointed to financial lines underwriting manager and ex-
IAG actuary Robert Cameron has joined as pricing actuary.
Thom will be responsible for the profitability, underwriting and management of Ansvar’s financial lines portfolio including underwriting of large, complex cases and schemes. Thom joins from Allianz where he was responsible for the commercial financial lines portfolio for the southern region of Australia. He also spent six years at
Vero Profin as a senior underwriter for professional and financial lines, almost three years at
CGU, and five years with ANZ Bank.
Cameron spent seven years with IAG managing the actuarial pricing, budgeting and reserving functions for direct personal lines including NRMA and RACV. In addition he spent eight years as an actuary for the National Australia Bank and six years as a director at WorkSafe Victoria. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
