A WA-based specialist underwriter has announced a significant addition to its team.
Insurance veteran John King has joined Quantum Underwriting Agencies as a director and shareholder and will be based in the company’s Melbourne office.
King will focus on developing all aspects of the underwriter’s product offering. He brings more than 35 years of insurance experience to his new role, most recently as Victoria and Tasmania branch manager for Berkley Insurance Australia for the last four years.
King commenced his career at Baillieu Bowring Marsh McLennan and was a founding member of FinPro. In 2000, he served as regional manager of International Financial Services for Asia-Pacific. Two years after, he established ACE Financial Solutions International in Asia-Pacific in conjunction with ACE Financial Solutions International in Bermuda. Then, in 2005, he accepted the challenge to commence the southern region business for DUAL Australia.
King “clearly brings significant underwriting experience and will ensure that we can maintain our high service standards,” said Neil Sheppard, executive director at Quantum.
