Insurance Business Australia's (IB) Elite Women 2023 special report recognises and celebrates insurance leaders who have accomplished significant career milestones and have contributed to the industry.
Jeanene Hill, head of coverholder and delegated authority for APAC at Canopius, was named one of this year's Elite Women. In her 34 years in the insurance industry, she remains passionate, enthusiastic, and grateful to the people who have helped her over the years.
In an interview with IB, Hill said building strong relationships has made her stay and thrive in the industry for decades.
“My biggest strength is my connection with people,” Hill said. “I love getting to know everyone I meet. I am genuinely interested in who they are, what they like to do, and what inspires them.”
Hill focuses on empowering other people, avoiding unhealthy competition, making a difference without receiving a reward, and closing the gender pay gap.
“I have really seen the evolution of women in insurance, and as an industry looking to the future, we need to embrace change. What we need is diversification across all functions of our business,” she said.
