A wave of emerging talent is redefining the Australian insurance industry, bringing a combination of digital skills and client-centric expertise to address the sector’s challenges.
The 2024 Insurance Business Australia (IB) Rising Stars list highlights 27 young professionals poised to drive innovation and support the industry’s evolution in a period of significant change.
In mid-2024, IB sought nominations for its annual Rising Stars list, celebrating its 10th year. Candidates were required to be 35 years old or younger as of Oct. 31, 2024, and actively involved in the general insurance sector.
To qualify, nominees had to show clear achievements, a passion for their careers, and a commitment to shaping the industry.
The evaluation process considered nominees’ current roles, career goals, and industry contributions, supported by endorsements from senior professionals and managers.
After reviewing the entries, 27 individuals were selected for their outstanding contributions to the insurance landscape.
The Rising Stars list is sponsored by AXA XL, whose Australian country manager, Catherine Carlyon, emphasised the importance of recognising new talent.
Referencing findings from AXA’s Future Risks Report 2024, Carlyon pointed to the increasingly interconnected and technology-driven nature of modern risks.
“AXA has recently published its Future Risks Report 2024, which highlights the growing complexity of managing risks, making decisions, and tackling challenges in a world marked by rapid technological advances and increasingly interconnected risks. Insurance has a key role to play in supporting resilience against risks, and we need to attract talent to our industry and recognise those who shine. AXA XL is proud to sponsor the 2024 Rising Stars,” she said.
