Workers’ compensation insurer icare has announced its 10 Industry Champions that excel in delivering insurance and care for people, businesses, and communities in New South Wales.
icare's Industry Champion was grown out of another of the insurer's recognition programs, Care and Service Excellence (CASE) Awards, due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this year's program, the internal icare Industry Champion selection committee reviewed each entry against defined assessment criteria. The two highest-scoring nominations in each category were then deemed Industry Champion.
icare named Jake Turvey (IPAR Rehabilitation) and Neven (EML) as Young Professionals of the Year. Meanwhile, Linda Byrnes (Rehab Management) and Ivy Wang (Kairros) took the Outstanding Care & Service (Rehabilitation and Support) award.
The insurer gave the Outstanding Care & Service (Care and Support) award to Michelle Hakeem (GIO) and Paul Hillard (Allianz Australia) and the Excellence & Innovation in Injury Management award to Rehab Management Innovation Team (Rehab Management) and Connect and Care Program Project Team (QBE Insurance Australia and NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Youth Justice).
icare also recognised Aaron Boyes and Matthew Counsel (Altius Group) and Gallagher Workplace Risk and Trend Laboratories PTY Ltd (trading as TrendPac) for their Excellence in Improving Employer Performance.
Geoff Henderson, icare's general manager employer engagement, commented: “We are proud to recognise the achievements of our Industry Champions.
“Following a year of extraordinary challenges, their commitment to achieving the best outcomes for injured people and employers is greatly valued, especially in the current environment where safety and service are paramount.”
Henderson concluded by congratulating the Industry Champion recipients and thanking its selection committee for their commitment to recognising the best of the NSW insurance and care industry.
