Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has publicly advertised the vacancy for icare’s chief executive and managing director, with applications closing at midnight on October 18.
In an update, the workers’ compensation insurer said it has tapped executive search firm Boyden to be in charge of the recruitment. The job posting is published on the IworkforNSW website and via print media nationally.

Commenting on the hiring process, recently appointed icare chairman John Robertson stated: “The Treasurer has given me a clear mandate as incoming chair of icare to ensure key actions are met to help manage this leadership transition as smoothly as possible for all stakeholders and to ensure icare is delivering on its commitment to support injured workers.
“Ensuring we have the right leader at the helm of the organisation at this critical time is essential to driving forward the necessary improvements.”
According to icare, it expects to install a new boss before the end of 2020. Former CEO John Nagle resigned in August.
Meanwhile qualifications include significant leadership experience in the insurance industry, an appreciation of the public sector governance structures, and a demonstrated track record of delivering customer-centric transformation.
