The representative body of the general insurance industry in Australia has welcomed two new members.

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) board ratified the membership applications of general insurance companies Cover-More Insurance Services and Domestic & General Insurance.

This brings ICA’s membership to 56, representing more than 96% of total premium income written by private-sector general insurers.

The board also accepted the resignation of a director, John Myler, who has left his role as CEO of RACQ Insurance.
