IAG has appointed Andrea Walsh to the new role of executive general manager of technology and transformation within the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) division, effective January 22, 2024.
With over 20 years of technology experience, Walsh (pictured) is set to play a pivotal role in IIA’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to CEO of CGU and WFI Jarrod Hill. Her core responsibilities will include overseeing technology and transformation within IIA, working closely with group technology and external providers to enhance the division’s capabilities.
Hill expressed satisfaction with the new addition, highlighting Walsh’s ability to navigate complex technical environments and deliver impactful results.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Ms Walsh to IIA’s senior leadership team at a pivotal time for the division as we bring our transformation vision to life by leveraging technology, data, and operational excellence to build a best in market business,” he said. “Ms Walsh has extensive experience in navigating complex technical environments and delivering impactful results and will be fundamental in accelerating and entrenching IIA’s technology strategy to deliver better outcomes for our brokers, partners, and customers.”
Walsh’s extensive background includes leadership in large-scale global technology transformations. Her expertise extends to implementing artificial intelligence strategies to improve business outcomes and fostering high-performing teams.
Having previously served as interim chief information officer (AusPac) and global group head of technology transformation at QBE Insurance, Walsh joins IIA with a solid track record.
In a separate announcement last month, IAG appointed an interim group general counsel.
