IAG has announced the appointment of Peter Horton as group general counsel.
Horton will join IAG by end of 2019 from TransGrid, manager and operator of the high-voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, where he is executive manager of legal, governance, and risk.
Prior to TransGrid, Horton was group general counsel and company secretary at QBE Insurance and before that, at Woolworths. He also worked as general manager of legal and company secretary at resource company WMC Resources.
Horton’s “considerable experience across a range of industries will enhance the way we meet our obligations, in an increasingly complex environment,” said Peter Harmer, IAG managing director and CEO.
Horton is also a non-executive director for Business for Development – a not-for-profit which aims to reduce extreme poverty through inclusive economic growth.
