Global insurance brokerage HW Wood is expanding its presence in Australia by opening a new office in Western Australia (WA) – and it is bringing in an industry leader to head up the region.
Clive Higgins (pictured), who boasts more than 40 years in the industry, will take the role of state manager for the firm. Having held leadership roles at a host of international broking houses, as well as insurers in both WA and Victoria, it is now hoped that he can turn his experience and knowledge into assisting the group’s growth plans.
“We are constantly on the lookout for great talent to join our team and we were thrilled to be able to bring someone of Clive’s calibre to HWI,” said Australian manager Fleur Taylor. “Clive’s appointment is an important step forward for our business in Australia and his contribution to the team will aid the group’s growth ambitions and mandate to deliver great outcomes for our clients.”
For his part, Higgins described HW International’s global presence as a “true differentiator.”
“It is a joy to be able to join a privately-held company that understands the true values of personal and close attention to a client’s needs,” he said. “We will be building a strong team in WA which understands this culture and shares our desire to provide the best solutions for our clients and their business.”
