International insurance broker Howden has acquired Counselling Appraisal Consultants (CAC), a specialist rehabilitation, safety, wellbeing, and employment services provider headquartered in Melbourne.
Established in 1995, CAC provides injury management, occupational rehabilitation, return-to-work program development and implementation, injury prevention, occupational health and safety and risk management, vocational, and employment services.
The deal takes Howden another step towards delivering specialist expertise and exceptional service to clients, thanks to CAC's unique understanding of rehabilitation, safety, and wellbeing. It also enables Howden's people risk team to expand its current offering to clients on the eastern seaboard.
Tom Flynn, partner, people risk, Howden Australia, expects CAC's team of highly regarded allied health and vocational services professionals to create more opportunities to provide specialist services to clients.
“We share the same approach to client-centricity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, which is fundamental to our future success and that of our clients, and we are proud that they are joining the team,” he said.
Matt Bacon, CEO of Howden Pacific, added: “This is a wonderful acquisition for Howden in the Pacific, and we are delighted that CAC has chosen Howden to be their home. This acquisition is another great step forward in our strategy to expand our platform in Victoria and provide an exceptional client service offering in the Pacific market.”
Paul Serong, principal of CAC, confirmed that he, along with the senior management team and the rest of the staff, will join Howden.
“Howden is a perfect fit for us. In order to continue our growth, we were determined to partner with a company that shared our vision and values. CAC's commitment to delivering market-leading services and the best rehabilitation outcomes for all stakeholders aligns perfectly with Howden. Their people risk experience and capability complement our own, creating unique opportunities for the combined business,” he said. “The CAC journey so far has been an exciting one, and we look forward to continuing the successful development of the business in partnership with Howden.”
