More than 100 motor fleet and property professionals gathered at Sydney’s Doltone House on Wednesday with their brokers to recognise this year’s Benchmark Award winners.
The Royal District Nursing Service, whose broker is Aon, took the Commercial Motor award; and the same brokerage has also been on hand to help Rathbone Wine Group ¬– Xanadu Wines with their insurance needs. They took home the Corporate Solutions Property Site Engagement award.
WB & SM Doser Freight Forwarding, who works with OAMPS, sealed the Heavy Motor category; and HW Greenham & Sons, with risk management help from OAMPS, took home the Corporate Solutions Property Risk Management award.
CEO John Nagle praised the high calibre of this year’s recipients and their brokers, Aon and OAMPS.
“Safety is the number one focus of Royal District Nursing Service – the very deserving recipient of this year’s Commercial Motor Benchmark Award,” said John. “Every fleet driver of the mobile nursing service, which employs more than 1600 people in Australia and New Zealand, has completed a defensive driving course, and safety features rank highly in their fleet selection process.
“The winner of this year’s Heavy Motor Benchmark Award – Doser – also has a reputation for placing the safety of its drivers first. The Adelaide-based company’s safety initiatives have included installing cabin cameras throughout their fleet and implementing a more structured approach to truck driver recruitment and management.”
In presenting the inaugural Property Site Engagement Benchmark award, regional manager Corporate Solutions & Victoria Rob Funnell congratulated Xanadu Wines and broker Aon on the winery’s disciplined approach to risk management.
“Over the past two years, Xanadu has implemented 14 of the 16 risk improvements recommended by our risk engineers,” said Rob. “The winery has integrated risk management throughout their operations from introducing hot work management precautions to hazard inspection protocols and improved housekeeping.
“This year’s other Property award winner – HW Greenham & Sons – is a truly inspirational company that’s at the forefront of property risk management in Australia. Over the past three years, the abattoir and exporter has worked very closely with our risk engineers to mitigate the company’s risks.
“Their risk management initiatives have ranged from installing sprinklers at two key sites to replacing electrical switchboards and reviewing all their systems and procedures, including a full review of their Business Continuity Plan.”
