The dust has barely settled – with the third annual Dive In just concluding – and now it’s been revealed that the festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance is returning next year in September.
Here are the numbers for the 2017 festival:
- More than 7,000 attendees at over 90 events
- 32 cities involved across 17 participating countries
- Twitter audience reach of 1.8 million, a 40% increase
What’s interesting to note is that the Dive In festival was first held just two years ago in only one city: London. The 2017 edition, with the theme “Diversity Dividend,” saw the highest number of events, attendees, sponsors, and participating countries.
Topics included mental health, work-life balance, women in leadership, and generational dialogue. Dive In organisers, announcing the 2018 return “on the back of sustained demand,” said each topic reinforced the importance of strong diversity and inclusion best practice for the insurance industry.
“The collaboration and commitment that goes into putting on a Dive In Festival on this scale internationally reflects the support for modern, inclusive workplace cultures where talent thrives,” commented Dominic Christian, chair of Inclusion@Lloyd’s,
Aon UK chief executive, and president of the Insurance Institute of London. “Though we are celebrating its success, we only pause for a second as our research shows that there is still work to be done, so it’s great that Dive In 2018 is confirmed.”
Dive In is an initiative of Inclusion@Lloyd’s – a collaboration between the Corporation of Lloyd’s, International Underwriting Association of London, London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association, and the Lloyd’s Market Association. The aim is to pool resources, widen perspectives, and share best practice in diversity and inclusion to effect change faster.
