Helia Group Limited has maintained gender pay equality for a second consecutive year, standing in contrast to the broader general insurance industry, where the average pay gap remains at +24.8%, according to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).
Helia reported an average pay gap of -3.4% in 2023-24, with a median gap of -2.5%.
“I am incredibly proud of this achievement and I am especially proud that Helia is again acknowledged for its leadership delivering equity and inclusion for our people. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is a fundamental cornerstone of our culture,” Helia CEO Pauline Blight-Johnston said.
She attributed the company’s performance to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
“It is through these initiatives that we foster an environment where everyone can thrive. By doing so, we not only empower our people but also deliver greater value to our customers, suppliers, and the communities we serve,” Blight-Johnston said.
The company has also been recognised as WGEA’s Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for the 11th year in a row. This citation is awarded to organisations that meet strict criteria on workplace policies, pay transparency, and gender equality initiatives.
